1. Hi Bruno! Where are you now in these hot days? People from here travel to Italy on holidays. Where do Italian people spend their holidays?

Hi, I'm on tour with OvO in Spain, it's really good here, good weather, good vibes... Italians? They're fucking everywhere, man...

2. Tell us something about your band OVO. When did you start and what has happened till now?

We (Bruno and Stefania) decided to play together as we live together, we tour together with our other bands, and so it seemed normal to try to make a band together. This happened at the end of year 2000. As soon as we started to spread the word that we made a band, a lot of people started to call us for playing, and OvO immediately became a "TOURING AS HELL" band. So far we played in all the western world, from Istanbul to Los Angeles, from Lisboa to Gothenburg, everywhere in Europe and North America. We released 4 albums, the last one is the brand new "Cicatrici", and a lot of splits and tracks on compilations.

3. If I remember from crossroads... "ovo" should mean an egg in Esperanto (artificial language created from several different languages). How did you found this name?

OvO means "egg" in portuguese too... but this name has no meaning, we were thinking about a name, Stefania saw the word "nuovo" written somewhere and she said OVO! As it's a palindrome, I immediately liked it. That's it.

4. Btw, what do you think about an idea of creating some unique artificial language which would be used worldwide? Esperanto disappeared after the fall of communist regime in 1989. Is it still used somewhere else?

Esperanto is artificial, there's no way it can work within the people. Unfortunately, for the moment the only international language seems to be english, the language of capitalism. It's like this because english is connected with reality, and also it's easy, very easy. If we want to destroy the american power, the first thing should be refusing to communicate in english. The language is the real power.

5. You ought to play in Slovakia 2 years ago in Cadca... was that show really set up? I remember those flyers with something like: "crazy trumpet noise"...

We had to cancel the whole eastern Europe tour 2 years ago, it was very sad for me, but it was the only possible thing. This year we played in Bratislava, in may, it was cool! Anyway, we never used a trumpet in our music...

6. We met together at your show in Bratislava with MAN MANLY. I think it was really awesome gig, first of this type/style for me. I was surprised how perfectly is your show set up. How often do you rehearse? How often do you change you stage show?

we never practice, we have never practiced in our lives. Everything starts as improvisation on stage, and we play 100 concerts every year, so our music and performances grow up on stage, concert after concert. We change our show a little bit every night, trying new things. If they are good, we keep them in the following concerts. We don't even need to talk about it. We know if something is good or not.

7. I asked that guy who did video-projection at your show whether he worked with computer or analogue devices and he replied me something in this way: "I use some software as well, but believe me, God is analogue". How did this mystification get to noise?

Uh, it probably depends by which drug he used that night. Which drug was circulating that night? it's the first time I heard him talking about God...

8. Could you tell us something about the beginning of noise scene? Do you think it has some roots in punk, or electronic music?

The noise scene has basically two sides. One comes from the electronic and industrial scene, and it's usually more pretentious, usually more well done, and unfortunately sometimes right-handed. The noise makers coming from the punk DIY scene is usually closer to the people, with a good attitude. The quality is sometimes worse. But the best people are in this side of the scene.

9. Have you been sometimes a part of punk scene? Do you think you belong to it in some way even today?

We've been always in many different scenes, we like many different kinds of music and people. We started from the punk scene and we still have good connections with the true side of it, squats, crust bands, diy labels and organizations, political activists. We still play in punk places and for punk people. We don't like all this fake punk fashion, bubble gum melodic bands, crust bands and labels that do nothing of what they say in their songs, machocore bands, profit punk labels and organizations, and so on...

10. I'd like to ask you what's the most obscure thing that someone used for playing noise... If you want to add something, feel free to do it.

Obscure? Well, with my alter ego Ventolin Orchestra I use an aerosol machine for asthmatics, a dildo, my own belly. Stefania uses her dreadlocks... everything can be used!
